The platform has made it easy for small business owners in India to get exposure and big-time business deals. 

In General, the show has created a new sphere of opportunity in the country, one that was not present when the panellists of Shark Tank India were as amateur as the people they review now.

Many of the judges have managed to achieve success in their founding companies at a time when such a show was not around. Most of the judges are self-made successes that had to struggle before they owned million-dollar businesses.

Meanwhile, Shark Tank India’s Ashneer Grover reveals he flirted with Vineeta Singh at IIM. Ashneer Grover is the co-founder/ managing director at BharatPe, an Indian-based electronic payment app.

After completing his MBA, he worked as the vice president in Kotak Financing Bank till 2013, when he left to take up the position of the Director of Corporate Development at American Express. He left American Express in 2015 to work as the Chief

Financial Officer of Grofers till 2017 when he left to join PC Jeweller Limited. It was only after 2018 that he became a business owner. 

Vineeta Singh is the co-founder of the Indian-based cosmetics company SUGAR cosmetics. Although there is not much information about where Vineeta specifically worked before co-founding SUGAR cosmetics, reports suggest that she turned down a ‘one crore per year’ placement offer to start her own company, which turned out to be a failure.

When Ashneer Grover flirted with Vineeta Singh

At a recent event, Ashneer Grover discussed his co-judges Anupam Mittal, Vineeta Singh, and others. According to him, “I knew Anupam from before. I’d pitched him an idea once, and in the month that he took to get back to me, I accepted somebody else’s investment, so I ended up saying no to him.”

“Vineeta was my junior in IIM; we never spoke but had exchanged flirtatious glances. She was one of those ‘hot juniors’. Aman is a great guy, our ‘auditions’ for the show were held together at my place. Peyush everybody knew from Lenskart, and Namita I met for the first time on the show.”
