MS Dhoni spotted eating his bat during the IPL game, Amit Mishra explains why

MS Dhoni bid adieu to international cricket in late August 15, 2020. Since then, he has been actively applying his skills and expressing himself in the Indian Premier League. He stunned the cricket fraternity when he handed over the captaincy duty to Ravindra Jadeja.

In fact, he made this decision just days ahead of the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Under Ravindra Jadeja’s captaincy, CSK didn’t perform well this season. They managed to win only 2 games but lost as many as six games.

Ravindra Jadeja decided to hand over the captaincy duty to the veteran cricketer, MS Dhoni. Although Chennai Super Kings aren’t officially out of the playoffs race, they are still keeping their hopes alive by registering huge wins this season.

Currently, the four-time IPL champions are ninth on the points table. They have registered four wins and lost seven games in the competition. They have gained eight points and have an improved net run rate of +0.028.

Meanwhile, during the game between CSK and Delhi Capitals, captain MS Dhoni was spotted eating his bat before going to bat against the Delhi-based franchise. The pictures of MS Dhoni biting his bat in the dressing room have been doing the rounds on social media platforms.

While everyone was figuring out the reason behind this, former Indian cricketer and MS Dhoni’s teammate Amit Mishra explained the reason behind the same.

Amit Mishra took to Twitter and wrote, “In case you’re wondering why Dhoni often ‘eats’ his bat. He does that to remove tape of the bat as he likes his bat to be clean. You won’t see a single piece of tape or thread coming out of MS’s bat.”
