When Kevin Pietersen took a dig at MS Dhoni; CSK gave a savage reply!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s simplicity and honesty have never been in doubt. The down-to-earth personality is a huge inspiration to all cricket followers. Known for the knack of captaincy, wicketkeeping, batting traits, swift stumping, quick running between the wickets, last ball six, helicopter shots, ICC trophies and so on, his contribution to Indian cricket is so good that it cannot be put in words.

He has always worked behind the scenes to offer some crunch tips to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the deciding phase of the game. MS Dhoni has 3 ICC trophies as a captain – ICC World Cup 2007, ICC World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013, the only captain in the history of the sport to do so.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in late August 2020. The news was confirmed by MS Dhoni himself through the Instagram post. MS Dhoni has represented India in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is.

MS Dhoni took to his official Instagram account and announced his retirement from the international circuit along with the caption that reads, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired”

However, he has not retired from the Indian Premier League. He will still continue to entertain the fans in a CSK outfit. He has steered his team to three IPL titles and is the second most successful captain in the league behind Rohit Sharma (who won 5 titles).

Kevin Pietersen posts a throwback photo

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen took to his official Twitter handle and posted a throwback photo with former India captain MS Dhoni. In the photo, Pietersen can be seen suggesting something to the wicketkeeper-batsman Dhoni.

“Hey, MSD, why don’t you put a fielder over there for me? Scoring runs against you guys is so easy,” Pietersen captioned it while taking a cheeky dig at MS Dhoni.

However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) chipped in with hilarious response to KP’s tweet.

The Chennai-based franchise had posted a classic photo, showing off MS Dhoni’s lightning-fast stumping abilities and then trolled Kevin Pietersen.

“But sometimes you don’t need fielders!”, CSK captioned the photo.

Chennai Super Kings’ savage reply won millions of hearts, drew a lot of attention on the platform and also ended up receiving more retweets than Kevin Pietersen’s initial tweet.
