Captain Amarinder Singh takes a dig at Navjot Singh Sidhu; his remarks go viral

The Chief Minister of a state is the leader of MLAs in the State Assembly while the Prime Minister is the leader of MPs in the Lok Sabha.

Amarinder Singh who served as the Cheif Minister of Punjab earned a monthly salary of ₹230,000 (US$3,200) in his regime. He stepped down as Punjab Chief Minister amid turmoil in Congress this month. Meanwhile, Amarinder Singh made the headlines when he took a swipe at Navjot Singh Sidhu adding that he is an “unstable man” after the latter resigned as Punjab Congress chief.

“I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab,” Captain Amarinder Singh Tweeted. Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu in a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi stepped down as the party’s Punjab unit chief but added that he will continue to serve the party.

Sidhu took charge as the state party chief in July this year. “The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab,” he wrote in the letter.

“Therefore, I hereby resign as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress,” he further wrote.

It is not known what triggered Sidhu to resign from the post of the Punjab Congress chief.
