The sensational Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan, often known as the ‘blue-eyed boy’ of Indian cricket has excellence as an all-rounder, leading his team to win on several occasions, be it 2007 ICC World Twenty20 or 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
Irfan Pathan represented India in 29 Tests, 120 ODIs and 24 T20Is. He took 100, 173 and 28 wickets respectively. He also scored a century in Test cricket. Besides that, he scored 6 half-centuries. The southpaw scored 5 fifties in ODI cricket.
Irfan played 103 games in the Indian Premier League where he scored 1 fifty to his name. As far as his bowling stats are concerned, he took 80 wickets to his name. He announced his retirement from all forms of the game in January 2020.
Pathan ended his 19-year-old cricketing career and then made his acting debut via the upcoming Kollywood film Cobra, which stars Vikram in the lead role. The former seamer got married to Safa Baig in 2016.
Not many of his fans knew that she used to be a popular model back them. Safi is always wearing a hijab in her pictures with her husband and she has no such social media handle. One of the fans questioned the pic posted by Irfan Pathan. The picture was taken right after the end of the India legends vs Sri Lanka legends match last month. According to the picture, she blurred her face and this tempted the fan to come up with such sort of a question.
She asked: “Why is her faced blurred out?” To which, Safa Baig responded by saying: “Hello ? I chose it to be that way. Have a good day! – Safa Mirza.”
Irfan Pathan defends his wife
The former Indian cricketer took to Twitter and posted the same picture and went on to clarify that it is by choice that she blurred her far. The former all-rounder added that he is not her ‘master but her mate’.
“This picture is posted by my queen from my son’s account. We are getting a lot of hate. Let me post this here as well. She blurred this pic by her choice. And Yes, I’m her mate, not her master,” Irfan added.
