In shocking news, a sadhu (Hindu temple priest) has been murdered with an axe by a stranger in Mau village in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, as per news agency ANI. It has been said that Sadhu Shiv Giri prayed and stayed in a Hanuman temple at the bank of river Yamuna in the New Agra region.
If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then his dead body was discovered inside the temple by the people. The people notified the police and upon investigation, it was learnt that Sadhu was hacked to death by an incisive object.
Rohan Pramod Botre, Additional SP (City), Agra added that the body has been sent for the post mortem examination. Meanwhile, the reason behind the murder is not revealed yet.
Rohan Pramod Botre further added saying that an axe has been recovered by the police which they suspect it to be the murder weapon.
The police also added that the incident doesn’t seem to one of robbery. It is highly possible that someone who is known to the sadhu committed the murder. Meanwhile, a surveillance team is reportedly initiating a probe into the mobile phone of the sadhu to recover the information.
