Pujari Sant Gyan in Punjab shot by goons, a small girl who wanted to save faces their torture as well

In yet another heart-wrenching incident, another Hindu saint was brutally attacked in Phillaur village in Jalandhar district of Punjab. The shocking incident once again left people in shock. Some unknown people opened fire and attacked Sant Gyan, a temple priest. The attackers attempted to kill Pujari.

Three bullets were fired upon Sant Gyan and a minor girl was also injured. The 16-year-old girl, Simran, was also hit by bullets while trying to save the priest. She sustained two bullet injuries. The 35-year-old priest was identified as Kamaljit Singh who received three bullet injuries and the girl received two bullet injuries.

Both the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. People were shocked to hear the shocking attack on Sant Gyan as he was severely injured with three bullets.

This is truly unacceptable by any means and this needs to stop. Sadhus have never seen such mutilation in their life.

Police have launched an intensive search operation to nab the accused. According to sources Sant Gyan had built this temple a few years back and it is said that some people opposed him for building the temple. Police are investigating all angles in the case. CCTV footage is also being scrutinised.

The Station House Officer, Phillaur police station, said: “An FIR has been lodged against two persons under Sections 307 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25, 27 and 54 of the Arms Act. The victims are serious and are receiving treatment. The search for shooters is on.”
