Recently, the Chairman of Mahindra Group gave a fitting reply to a Chinese newspaper editor who shared his reaction to the Indian government’s decision to ban the Chinese applications.

For the unversed, the Indian government has banned as many as 59 Chinese applications including TikTok. Several popular applications including Shareit, Helo, Likee, WeChat, UC Browser, Shein have been mentioned among the list of banned Chinese apps.

This major move is aimed at safeguarding the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users. This important decision is a targeted move to ensure complete safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace, the Ministry of Information Technology added in a notification.

Chinese newspaper Global Times had mentioned that this move will not prove to be good for India as far as the long-term is concerned. The newspaper’s editor identified as Hu Xijin wrote the following statement, responding to India’s decision.

“Well, even if Chinese people want to boycott Indian products, they can’t really find many Indian goods. Indian friends, you need to have some things that are more important than nationalism.”

Anand Mahindra replied to him on Twitter and also thanked the editor for giving the Indian manufacturers a huge motivation.

“I suspect this comment might well be the most effective & motivating rallying cry that India Inc. has ever received. Thank you for the provocation. We will rise to the occasion…”
