As the whole world collapsed in less than a month after the pandemic hit, the economy and all the major events happening across the globe went rubbles. The world has seen the biggest humanitarian crisis during its fight with the novel coronavirus.

While the administrations have sweat and slaved in the time of emergency, the people have witnessed the biggest lockdown, huge number of deaths, thousands of businesses shut down, jobs lost, global food crisis, and so on.

7 Indian businessmen who've generously made donations to fight coronavirus

In addition to the efforts laid by the government, many actors, rich businessmen and other influential people have dedicated to eradicating the virus, making notable contributions to the cause. Here is a list of 7 richest businessmen who generously contributed during the pandemic.

1. Mukesh Ambani – Reliance Group

Mukesh Ambani has pledged to donate Rs 5 crore to Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund after the 21-days lockdown was imposed in the country. Reliance Industries Limited has efficiently manufacturing upto 100,000 face-masks daily and a large number of protective equipment for doctors, healthcare workers and nurses.

2. Anand Mahindra – Mahindra Group

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has offered to convert Mahindra Holiday resorts as temporary isolation facilities and has been providing ventilators to the special care units. The businessman has also decided to accord his entire salary to the fund for the next few months until the situation is restored.

3. Anil Agarwal – Vedanta Resources Limited

The Executive Chairman of Vedanta Resources Limited, Anil Agarwal took to Twitter to announce that he will be providing Rs.100 crore to the relief fund.

4. Anita Dongre – House of Dongre

Anita Dongre, the founder of House of Dongre, took to her Instagram to announce that she will be donating monetary grants to the small vendors, self-employed artisans, and partners associated with her brand.

5. Vijay Shekhar Sharma – Paytm 

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder of Paytm has forgone his salary for two months so that the company does not hinder in paying his employees and contemplate the hard times.

6. Ratan Tata – The TATA Group

Ratan Tata, entrepreneur and philanthropist has never shied away from ever making big contributions to any welfare fund. He has also promised all group companies full payments to their temporary workers and daily wage earners, for March and April.

7. Manu Kumar Jain – Xiaomi India 

Manu Kumar Jain, the Managing Director of Xiaomi India has pledged to donate N95 masks and protective suits. Also he is also encouraging other brands and companies to follow the same. At the same time the company is also giving away free ration, supplies and smartphones for the underprivileged students to support their education.
