IAS Tina Dabi, who topped the Union Public Service Commission examination (2015 batch), and husband, IAS Athar Khan, are already in the news. The buzz is that after getting married in 2018, both have filed for divorce with mutual consent in a family court in Jaipur.

In 2016, IAS couple fell in love at first sight:

IAS couple Tina Dabi and Athar Khan fell in love with each other during the training. It was “Love at first sight”, Tina said. Dabi and Khan, both from the Rajasthan cadre met during their training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie and fell in love.

Both toppers had been dating each other for 3 years. They were quite open about it and never hid their relationship from people. Tina got married to Athar in 2018 and later added Khan to her surname.

You might not know that Tina and Khan got married at a court ceremony in Rajasthan’s Jaipur and again had a wedding in the latter’s home state Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Tina and Aamir both got Rajasthan cadre and Aamir was posted in Jaipur at that time.

After marriage, Tina Dabi saw a hard time as she was trolled for her decision and allegations of ‘love jihad’ soon followed. Hindu Mahasabha targeted Tina over her decision to marry IAS Athar Aamir Khan calling it ‘Love Jihad’. More controversy followed as Hindu Mahasabha termed it as love-jihad.

Later, the strain in their relationship came after which Tina Dabi removed ‘Khan’ from her social media accounts. On the other hand, Athar unfollowing Tina on Instagram around the same time strengthened the rumours of estrangement between the couple. However, Tina Dabi said that “Love is not a crime”.
