From Russian President to Tina Dabi- visited Taj Mahal and got divorced from partners, check out the list

After two and a half years of love marriage between two young IAS officers, news of divorce has gone viral on social media. IAS Tina Dabi, who topped the Union Public Service Commission examination (2015 batch), and husband, IAS Athar Khan, have left people in awe by filing for divorce.

Soon after this news, netizens started trolling the couple for their decision. Now, some fans have begun to blame the curse of the Taj Mahal for the failed marriage of two young civil servants of India. Taj Mahal is considered to be one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

One user took to Twitter to highlight the names of other celebrity couples who had parted ways after posing at the Taj Mahal. They included Russian President Vladimir Putin, German tennis legend Boris Becker and American singer Katy Perry.

In 2000, Vladimir Putin had visited the Taj Mahal with his then-wife Lyudmila, who he divorced in 2013.

Tennis champ Boris Becker visited the Taj Mahal in Agra along with wife Lily in 2012. The three-time Wimbledon winner tweeted pics of his visit to the Taj, and wrote, “We had amazing day at Taj mahal.” Becker divorced his wife in 2018, six years after they visited the monument of love.

British comedian Russel Brand visited the Taj Mahal in 2009 with his then-girlfriend Katy Perry, and proposed her at historical site Taj Mughal. Months later, both got married. However, their marriage lasted for just 14 months. Russel Brand divorced his wife after 14  months.

As for IAS topper Tina Dabi, she got married to Athar in 2018 and later added Khan to her surname. Dabi and Khan, both from the Rajasthan cadre met during their training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie and fell in love.

After marriage, Tina had travelled to Agra with her civil servant husband to visit the Taj Mahal. Sharing the photo on Instagram, Tina had written, “Twinning with hubby at the magnificent monument of eternal love.”

After marriage, Tina Dabi saw a hard time as she was trolled for her decision and allegations of ‘love jihad’ soon followed. Hindu Mahasabha targeted Tina over her decision to marry IAS Athar Aamir Khan calling it ‘Love Jihad’.

Later, the strain in their relationship came after which Tina Dabi removed ‘Khan’ from her social media accounts. On the other hand, Athar unfollowing Tina on Instagram around the same time strengthened the rumours of estrangement between the couple.
