Google Translate fails; ruins Imran Khan’s congratulatory message to Joe Biden

In the latest development in the United States, Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in US Presidential elections. He also became the 46th president of the United States. As Joe Biden is declared the new President of the United States of America, congratulatory messages kept on pouring from every nook and corner of the world.

Amongst the well-wishers, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan came up with a congratulatory message. Surprisingly, he preferred to wish him in Urdu.

Google Translate fails; ruins Imran Khan’s congratulatory message to Joe Biden

Needless to say, Google translation has gone wrong. The translation left him embarrassed as his wishes ended up citing the new leaders of the United States as corrupt leaders “who cover up the stolen national wealth and eradicate illegal tax havens”.

According to the Google Translation software, he said, “Congratulations to the newly elected President on holding the World Summit on Democracy. I look forward to working with corrupt leaders to cover up stolen national wealth and eradicate illegal tax evasion sites. We will continue to work with the United States for peace in Afghanistan / the region.”

What Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan really wanted to say was that he had hoped to terminate illegal tax havens and stealing of nation’s wealth by the world leaders.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s hopes for Joe Biden may not last very long as the new US President is not really happy with Turkey President Erdogan. “Unlike President Trump, I know what it takes to negotiate with Erdoğan. And if I were president, I would make him pay a heavy price for what he has done.”
