Touseef’s mother also forced Nikita to convert to Islam, Nikita Tomar’s family reveals

In a shocking revelation, the family members of Nikita Tomar, who was shot dead in Ballabhgarh, have revealed that not only Touseef (earlier media reports named his as Taufeeq), but even his mother was forcing Nikita to convert to Islam.

Nikita’s family claim that Tauseef mother called Nikita several times and tried to convince her to convert to Islam, but Nikita refused to convert to Islam. According to reports, Nikita and Touseef were in the same school in Faridabad, Haryana and were batchmates.

Nikita was a topper in class 12 and wanted to become an IAS officer. After completing school, Nikita took up commerce while Touseef took up a course in physiotherapy.

The family stated that the Hindu girl Nikita fell into the trap which was laid by Taufeeq alias Sajeed. He started harassing Nikita three years ago. However, a complaint was filed against him for harassment and molestation a few months back. Later, the family dropped the case.

As per reports, Touseef is the grandson of Kabir Ahmed, a Congress leader who was elected as an MLA from Haryana’s Nuh constituency in 1975 and from the Tauru constituency in 1982. He continued to be Khanpur and Raisika village sarpanch for almost 20 years. Khanpur and Raisika are located in Nuh Tehsil of Mewat district in Haryana.

On Monday, 21-year-old Nikita Tomar was shot to death in broad daylight by Touseef as she fell prey to a trap of ‘love jihad’. Journalist Raj Shekhar Jha shared CCTV footage on Twitter which is doing the rounds on social media. In the video, the killer could be seen stepping out of his car and pulling out his revolver. Nikita is seen struggling to get free and manages to flee for a brief moment before the accused grabs her again. While Nikita struggles to escape from her attacker, he then shoots her in the point-blank range.

The other accused too got out of the car and pulled Taufeeq back into the car. The duo then fled the crime scene. Nikita was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The primary accused has now been arrested. While speaking about the incident, ACP (Ballabgarh) Jaiveer Rathi informed, “One of the accused identified as Taufeeq hailing from Sohna was known to the victim and a complaint against him had been lodged by the victim’s kin a few months ago for harassment and molestation but a compromise had been reached.” According to him, the ‘rejection of friendship’ could be a motive behind the crime.
