Madarsa teacher’s been raping own daughter for years, arrested after she gets pregnant

Even today, India is still carrying an unwanted record which we people are aware of. The country’s failure to prevent rapes is haunting like hell. Rape is the fourth most common crime in the country.

The level of rape cases in our nation rose alarmingly. It is learnt that most of the rape cases were committed by someone known to the victim.

In another heart-wrenching incident in our country, a 16-year-old minor girl was brutally gang-raped by seven people, including her own father, who is a teacher at a local madarsa.

The shocking incident took place in Kasaragod district of Kerala. According to the reports, The Kerala police have arrested the accused for sexually abusing his 16-year-old daughter repeatedly over the past two years. Six other people have also been charged under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing the girl.

The incident came to light when the survivor lodged a complaint at Nileshwaram police station. Although the victim’s mother knew about the incident, she was afraid not to take the issue outside the family. Therefore, she did not inform the police.

So far, four people, including the victim’s father, have been arrested in connection with the case. Three of them are 19-year-old Riyas, 20-year-old Ijaz and 20-year-old Mohammed Ali.

The incident was reported after the maternal uncle of the victim lodged a complaint at the Nileshwaram police station. The victim in her statement said, “My father raped me daily for over three years.”

PR Manoj, the investigating officer said the girl became pregnant and underwent an illegal abortion two months ago. The senior police added that the doctor who performed the abortion is also under investigation as he failed to report the crime.

Reportedly, the investigation is currently underway whether the victim’s mother was aware of the incident but did not inform the police.

“There may be more accused persons. We have only completed our preliminary investigation,” said officer Manoj.

The mother will also be charged for hiding the incident, said the police.
