TikTok star Jannat Zubair supports Modi govt on Banning TikTok, says all Chinese apps should be banned

Amid the heightened tensions with China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the Indian government on Monday took an unprecedented step and has banned as many as 59 Chinese apps including TikTok.

The government has blocked 59 apps for safety, security, defence, sovereignty and integrity of India. Ghosh has welcomed the government’s move banning Chinese apps.

Meanwhile, TikTok star Jannat Zubair has welcomed the Modi government’s decision to ban 59 Chinese apps. Jannat Zubair is one of the most popular Indian TikTok artists. She has 27.9 million followers on TikTok, with 740 million hearts.

Jannat expressed her views saying that she is happy with the move as it is a matter of India’s sovereignty and integrity. She will promote apps made in India. After seeing the popularity of TikTok in India, Bollywood celebrities have also joined the popular app.

In an exclusive conversation with India Today Television, Jannat shared that she was anticipating this. “I was waiting for this news of the ban. I am very happy and completely support this decision. I support not just TikTok ban but also the ban of all other Chinese apps,” said the actress.

Jannat went on to say, “There are so many TikTokers, who’ll be shocked by this news, but somewhere we all had an idea that TikTok could be banned. I believe those who were only dependent on TikTok could explore their talent elsewhere.”

The actress doesn’t feel bad about the ban as she was on the app for fun. “I made TikTok videos only for fun and there are many more platforms where I can entertain my fans,” added Jannat.
