3yr old kid sat next to deadbody of Grandfather, soldier saves kid from Terrorists

For some people, duty and responsibility come ahead of anything else. In a recent incident, the security forces rescued a 3-year-old boy from getting hit by bullets during a fierce encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district.

According to police, security personnel received information about the presence of terrorists and soon the troops launched a cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

After terrorists opened fire at cops, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in which three CRPF jawans suffered serious injuries and one civilian died.

The deceased man was going with his grandson from Srinagar to Handwara in Kupwara district when the terrorists fired upon the patrol party. The child was heading towards the body of his grandfather. However, at the need of the hour, security personnel saved the toddler from getting hit by bullets. Jawans are now being appreciated for their extraordinary tale of bravery during the incident. They put their own lives at risk in sure death zone and went all out to save the life of the child.

In a heart-wrenching image, the child can be seen sitting on the blood-splattered body of his grandfather. The picture went viral on social media in no time in which a policeman can be seen holding the kid in his arms and trying to cheer him up.

“When we reached the site, what we saw was disturbing. Our priority was to evacuate the child. It was very challenging as terrorists were firing upon us. The child was going to Handwara with his grandfather,” Azim Khan, SHO Sopore said.

“A civilian vehicle coming from Sopore to Kupwara was caught in firing range of terrorists. An old man who was driving stopped the car and got down to move away for a safe spot but got killed by terrorists. Later a child was rescued by the security forces,” CRPF said.

Former Jammu and Kashmir DGP, SP Vaid strongly condemned the coward incident and tweeted, “Targeting a 3-year-old child is shameful act, how many more lives should we lose before Kashmiris come out vociferously against Pakistan sponsored terrorism. I commend J&K Police for great act of rescuing the child.”

“JKP #rescued a three years old boy from getting hit by bullets during #terrorist #attack in #Sopore. @JmuKmrPolice (sic),” a tweet by the Kashmir Zone Police read.
