Trump cancels Visas of non- Americans, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai protest the decision

In a shocking development, US President Donald Trump has put a travel ban on people who have H1B, H2B, L1, and J1 Visa. This will stop entry of immigration to America.

The decision has been taken in the view of unemployment which is constantly rising in America. Trump thinks that foreign workers create additional competition in the job market for US citizens.

However, the decision did not go down well with many including Tesla’s Elon Musk and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. They both seemed to be unhappy with this move and expressed their discontent over the order.

Taking to Twitter, Musk wrote, “Very much disagree with this action. In my experience, these skillsets are net job creators. Visa reform makes sense, but this is too broad.”

Expressing his views, Sundar Pichai said, “Immigration has contributed immensely to America’s economic success, making it a global leader in tech, and also Google the company it is today. Disappointed by today’s proclamation – we’ll continue to stand with immigrants and work to expand opportunity for all.”

Section 212(f) of the Immigration is basically an authority that is given to the President of the US to suspend the entry of all aliens or immigrants.

President can use it to protect America whenever he finds that the country is under threat. The section basically gives power to the president of the United State to use it to put a travel ban so that someone can not enter the United State.

This ban will not let immigrants come to the US. The Trump administration announced an extension of the ban on new immigrant visas through the end of the year.

Microsoft president Brad Smith wrote, “Now is not the time to cut our nation off from the world’s talent or create uncertainty and anxiety. Immigrants play a vital role at our company and support our country’s critical infrastructure. They are contributing to this country at a time when we need them most.”

This move will impact a large number of tens and thousands of Indian-Americans, who aspire to work in American companies. Trump, however, said that the move will not have any impact on those who are already residing in the country.
