“Earth is stationary, it’s the Sun that moves around the Earth”, proves Islamic cleric

A video went viral on social media like wildfire in which an Islamic cleric can be seen rejecting the fact that the Earth revolves around the Sun and claiming the opposite holds true, prompting a wave of social media remarks.

The Cleric was identified as Haji Imran Attari who is a prominent Islamic Cleric. He also hosts a televison show in which he educates children about different aspects of Islam.

Recently, one of his videos has gone viral on social media, in which the cleric claims the Earth is ‘static’, meaning it does not revolve at all. It doesn’t revolve around the Sun, or revolve on it’s own axis:

When a student said that the Earth orbits the Sun and not the Sun orbits the planet as he read this in a geography book, Imran Attari said that our ‘Alaa Hazrat’ has proved that the world doesn’t revolve around the Sun and further asked students not to follow Science or Geography.

But the cleric’s claim did not go well with social media users who criticized him a lot for spreading misinformation. His video attracted a lot of criticism and put himself into trouble after he said that the Earth is stationary. People spew their hatred at him and went on to say that he is misleading students.

Clerics who are responsible for teaching children, especially, should be well versed in all forms of knowledge. But Cleric Haji Imran is teaching students in the wrong way, terming science wrong.
