10 countries which are likely to support India, If China attacks India

Recently, tension rose between India and China over the Line of Actual Control (LAC). A clash took place between the Indian Army and Chinese troops at several points along the Line of Actual Control. This led to increasing tension between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

But the question that arises here is which countries will come to support India if China attacks India? Here is a list of 10 countries that will support India if China wages a war against India.

Russia:

Russia is our all-time friend. But there has been a slight change in Russia’s foreign policy recently. Russia and China have been improving their relations for the past few years. On the other hand, India and Russia have a deep bond of economic cooperation and military help. Therefore, it is all up to Russia whether it will help India or will stay neutral.

The USA:

In the following years, India developed a close working relationship with the USA. After Donald Trump became America’s president, India-US ties continued to flourish. America will surely help India because India is a major defence partner for the USA. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed India’s diplomatic outlook in several ways. He has reset his country’s relations with the West, especially the US, in a bid to counter China’s growing influence in Asia.

Israel:

Relations between India and Israel are at the peak at present. Israel, as usual, will offer unconditional help to India if India and China go to war.

France:

The relation between India and France have traditionally been close and friendly and both countries have a ‘special relationship’ with each other. Because of the strong relation, France will go against China and will come in support of India.

South Korea:

The relation between India and South Korea seems to be cordial. There are chances that South Korea may side India in case of war.

Japan:

There is no doubt that Japan and India are developing good and even close political relations. The two nations have strengthened their relations in recent years in order to counter China’s expanding economic and political influence in Asia.

The United Kingdom:

India and the UK are bound by strong ties of history and culture. Though their support may not be direct as they have better trade relations with China but they all know that India is an important aspect of their market and Indian investment along with the future aspects are strong.

Afghanistan:

Since the past few years, China has started influence in Afghanistan but India-Afghanistan relations have improved substantially ever since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister of India. In this way, Afghanistan will either support India or will remain neutral.

Bhutan:

India and Bhutan have a strong historical, cultural, and economic relationship, but maybe will not budge in a war situation.

Canada:

The relationship between India and Canada has always been strong. India has a very good relationship with Canada in the trade and investment space for the last couple of years. So, Canada will surely oppose China if it attacks India.
