Amid COVID-19 outbreak, DRDO develops devices to sanitise phones, currency notes, let’s salute them

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) scientists never cease to amaze us with interesting discoveries as they think beyond human imagination. Our scientists have achieved a major milestone in the field of technology. This is the reason why they are praised for being smart in their approach.

Amid the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the condition across the country is critical but we know–this too shall pass. So amid the situation of crisis, here is some good news to give you a sigh of relief.

In a sensational development, A specific branch of Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a contactless UVC sanitisation cabinet called Defence Research Ultraviolet Sanitiser (DRUVS).

The purpose of inventing the device is to help people sanitize their Mobiles, laptops, books, challans, passbooks, iPad, notes, coins, and papers, etc. This device has been developed by Research Centre Imarat also known as (RCI) which is located at Vigyana Kancha, Hyderabad.

While introducing this technology, DRDO said this UVC sanitizing cabinet can play a major role to prevent further spread of the COVID-19. The best part about this device is, it provides 360-degree exposure of UVC to objects placed inside the cabinet. Once sanitization is done, the system goes in sleep mode, DRDO informed.

The news comes at a time when the number of Coronavirus cases continues to rise in the country. This device will surely help the nation fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

This is not the first time when RCI has developed any advanced technology like this. Even before that, they developed a UVC currency sanitizer which also known as NOTESCLEAN which is mainly used to sanitize the currency notes. However, the operators also can use the DRUVS device to sanitize the bundles of notes.

Apart from this, many Indian IT and developing centres have made a significant contribution to the country to tackle this disease yet. They have introduced many other useful devices from time to time.
