IAS officer leads by example, he is changing lives in India, let’s praise him

Education is the most important requirement in today’s world. In India, there are so many talented children who are deprived of good foundation only because they cannot afford it and it is such a sad sight. On the other hand, Educational institutions make little to no effort in bringing the best out of students because they are always running behind money in a bid to enhance their existing facilities. If and only they could guide the students in the best way possible, we would see countless students achieving great things in life.

Meet Aditya Ranjan, an IAS officer from Jharkhand, who is working hard to improve the education system and healthcare of Singhum district in Jharkhand. Posted as District Development Officer (DDC), in the district, Aditya Ranjan changed the Anganwadi system into a model one, where children get full access to better education, healthcare, and nutrition. When he came to know the situation of the children from economically weaker sections of the society, he decided to do his bit for them so that they don’t suffer painful experience any more in their lives.

This was achieved with the help of an NGO, Titli that assisted Aditya in training women at these centres. The centres are now well equipped to conduct regular healthcare check-ups and also offer free medicines.

Speaking to The Logical Indian, Aditya added: “The pace at which things work in the government sector is slow. So, even if you want to implement any new initiative and analyse its outcomes, it would take a long time. Till now, we have received overwhelming responses from people of the district, and it makes me elated daily. When you can impact lives positively with your work, it gives immense satisfaction and that feeling is irreplaceable. Although we might face a shortage of funds as opening new Anganwadi centres would require heavy financial investments. I hope that the state allocates more funds for such successful projects.”

By the end of the year, the IAS officer Aditya looks forward to developing around 1,000 such rural child care centre across the district and state. In terms of education, the engineer-turned-IAS officer started the District E-governance Society Computer Training Program (DeGS) to make sure that every student gets access to computer education. This programme includes a two-month-long course consisting of 32 modules that cover all the fundamentals of computers. So far, around 1,700 students have already benefited from it.

Aditya told Humans of Jharkhand that he cracked the toughest UPSC exam with an AIR 99 in 2015. “Being a common man, I always thought about the small problems, which can be easily solved by the people with power, yet they remain unfulfilled. So, I decided to be the change within and with this objective, I took up the challenge and prepared for the UPSC exam and passed with flying colours,” he added in a statement.
