Chennai Cops send a Thief to steal Alcohol from Police Station, read details

In a shocking incident that took the entire nation by surprise, Chennai cops sent a man with a criminal record in a bid to steal seized liquor from New Washermenpet police station. This incident took place on the 14th of April.

As per a report in TOI, two policemen were suspended amid nationwide lockdown for their bizarre act.

It is cognisance of the fact that robbing off liquor stores including shops have gone up and people who want to drink are finding it really tough to get alcohol during the national lockdown.

The policemen who were suspended are 54-year-old head constable Murugavel and 36-year-old constable Muthu.

Their night duty commences from 9 pm to 6 am. The next day when other policemen arrived at the police station as many as 50 bottles were gone. They have now been transferred to other police stations and now they have tightened the security around liquor shops.

However, the senior police officials want to initiate a probe on this matter.
