A heart-wrenching video of a man carrying his 65-year-old ailing father in his arms on foot amid the nationwide coronavirus lockdown emerged in Kerala.

It has been learnt that the man was allegedly forced to carry his father on foot for 1 kilometre after the cops stopped the autorickshaw in which they were travelling, owing to the ongoing national lockdown, as per a report by NDTV.

Meanwhile, the old and ailing man belongs to Kollam’s Kulathupuzha village. It is to be learnt that he was being taken back home from the Punalur Taluk Hospital after being discharged.

Nonetheless, the 65-year-old and his son and their family were halted by the police, who did not hesitate to hear their requests for being permitted to travel. To make things worse, the police didn’t even pay attention to the man who allegedly showed the police some hospital documents highlighting his father’s discharge.

Even after that, Police personnel made the family descend from the autorickshaw. Extremely hurt by this, the son had no other option but to carry his father in his arms on foot for about 1 kilometre to the Punalur city area.

On Thursday, Kerala had 387 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus pandemic with 218 recoveries and 3 deaths.

Just a couple of days ago, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the coronavirus lockdown across the nation till May 3.
