Amid the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak, homeless people and daily wage workers, who migrate to big cities from their home towns in search of jobs, are now fighting against hunger. The Corona Virus has created a panic situation across the country.

Though the situation in the country due to the COVID-19 outbreak has gone from bad to worse, Celebrities, Entrepreneurs or businessmen are doing their maximum best to help the nation fight the coronavirus pandemic.

The condition across the country is critical but we know–this too shall pass. So amid this situation of crisis, here is some good news to give you a sigh of relief.

Legendary Ratan Tata, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar have come forward to help the country fight the COVID-19 outbreak. Let’s know what contribution they have made to the country during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Legendary Ratan Tata: 

Tata Trusts Chairman Ratan N Tata has announced that he would donate a whopping Rs 500 crore to fight the coronavirus pandemic which has taken away the livelihood of millions of people.

The 82-year-old businessman, who is well known for his philanthropy, shared the note from his charitable organisation. He captioned the post, “Tata Trusts and Tata group companies have in the past risen to the needs of the nation. At this moment, the need of the hour is greater than any other time.”

We at The Youth, salute Ratan Tata for his significant contribution and hope that other corporate honchos come forward to help India.

This donation is so far the biggest contribution made by any Indian.

Indian American business executive “Sundar Pichai”:

Sundar Pichai, the CEO of both Google and Alphabet, has announced that the company will be donating more than $800 million in cash and advertising to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and ease the impact on small businesses. He has not donated to India, but to some world organization

Sundar Pichai, who has been leading Google as Chief Executive Officer since 2015, said in a statement, “This is an increase from our initial $25 million announced last month. In addition, we’re providing $20 million in ad grants to community financial institutions and NGOs specifically to run public service announcements on relief funds and other resources for SMBs”.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai is famous all across the world for his epic success. From staying in a two-room apartment in Chennai to living in a beautifully designed home in the USA, he has come a long way. He has had quite an interesting journey.

Besides Google, Sundar Pichai handles seven other big companies. They are Google Fiber, Google Nest, Calico, Verily, Google Ventures, The Moonshot Factory, Capital G.

Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar:

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has once again won people’s hearts by doing his bit to the nation. Bollywood Khiladi has reportedly donated a whopping Rs 25 crore to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.

The huge amount will go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s PM-CARES fund to help the government in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

PM Modi had earlier on Saturday announced the creation of the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES) where people can contribute and help the government in the fight.

Akshay took to his Twitter handle to announce that safeguarding the lives of the people is of paramount importance right now.

He tweeted, “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to @narendramodi ji’s PM-CARES Fund. Let’s save lives, Jaan hai toh jahaan hai. (sic).”

This donation is so far the biggest contribution made by any Bollywood celebrities. His wife, former actor and author Twinkle Khanna, praised Akshay for an unprecedented contribution made by any celebrities so far.  “The man makes me proud. When I asked him if he was sure as it was such a massive amount and we needed to liquidate funds, he just said, I had nothing when I started and now that I am in this position, how can I hold back from doing whatever I can for those who have nothing,’” she wrote.

Akshay doesn’t believe in announcements but believes in a practical approach. His selfless activities and massive contribution to the Indian society in the crisis serve as a testament to the fact. This is why Akshay Kumar is so much special and is admired by scores of citizens in India.

Day by day, respect for Akshay is growing and it is because of the good things that he has been doing from the bottom of the heart.

The novel coronavirus which originated in China has by far, spread in over 160 countries across the world. By far, the virus has affected over 8 lakh people globally and the global death toll has risen to at least 39,000. Thankfully, over 1.7 lakh people have recovered from the deadly outbreak.

However, India is making all the necessary efforts to bring the fast-spreading disease under control. But the speed with which COVID-19 is spreading across the globe seems unstoppable.

In India alone, the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have surpassed 1200 so far, while at least 32 people have died in the country from the infection.

The Modi government is making all necessary efforts to control the coronavirus pandemic. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown for 21 days across the nation in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.
