Octogenarian doctor dies in Mumbai while treating Corona Patients, he saved several other lives

We often forget doctors who work day in day out for the well being of society. They know the value of time and work tirelessly to help patients. With sheer grit, dedication and determination, they have set a perfect example for the present and future generations. There is a famous saying that “Doctor is the second form of God”. 

India, at the moment, is under complete lockdown due to a coronavirus outbreak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown for 21 days to check the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, doctors, who are putting their lives at risk and treating coronavirus patients, have not been spared by the COVID-19. So far, three doctors have been tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic, out of them, one has passed away. 

In shocking news, an octogenarian doctor has lost his life in Mumbai while treating coronavirus patients. The Indian doctor from Saifee Hospital had tested positive for COVID-19. He died because he was suffering from diabetes ailment.

The doctor has been identified as Behranwala, who was continuously treating patients suffering from COVID 19 despite a shortage of doctors and medical staff.

As per a statement from Saifee Hospital, he went through a CT scan at Saifee Hospital and was diagnosed positive for Covid-19. The surgeon was then kept under special isolation where he ultimately died. Behranwala’s close relatives had come down from England and were under quarantine.

In a statement, Saifee Hospital, where Behranwala underwent CT scan, said, “All containment and surveillance measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of our staff patients and visitors. Saifee Hospital reiterates that the Hospital is fully operational,” said Dr Vernon Desa, Director (Medical governance and clinical compliance) Saifee Hospital.

The entire world is in a state of shock after the novel coronavirus pandemic impacted lakhs of people’s lives. By far, the virus has affected around 4 lakh people globally and the global death toll has risen to at least 17,000. Thankfully, around 1 lakh people have recovered from the deadly outbreak.

Meanwhile, Dr. Behranwala, who was tirelessly helping coronavirus patients, died during the treatment. It has been learned that he was a surgeon and lost his life to coronavirus. He dedicated his life to helping the country fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

He did not stop treating patients despite knowing the fact that there is no vaccination or cure available now to help patients recover the deadly disease. 

In India alone, the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have surpassed 800 so far, while more than 15 people have died in the country from the infection. Complete lockdown for 21 days has been imposed across the country in order to check the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Scientists are trying their best to find a complete cure to combat the fast-spreading disease. Unfortunately, for now, there is no vaccination or cure available to help patients recover the deadly disease. So it is advised to take all possible precautions. Maintain social distancing to avoid coronavirus infection. Make sure that you keep yourself away from those who have coronavirus symptoms.
