Amitabh says, ” house fly can spread Coronavirus”, see how Health Ministry relies to him

Everyone is well aware of the coronavirus outbreak which has spread in over 160 countries across the world. By far, the virus has affected over 4.5 lakh people globally and the global death toll has risen to at least 21,000.

COVID-19 has created an atmosphere of fear in the world. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has already declared the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak as a ‘pandemic’.

In India alone, the confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have surpassed 600 so far, while more than 12 people have died in the country from the infection.

As the world continues to fight the growing number of coronavirus-positive cases, scientists are also trying their best to find an effective cure to combat the fast-spreading disease

Meanwhile, Legendary Bollywood star, Amitabh Bachchan, took to Twitter handle to share new information about Coronavirus. He shared a video post and referred to the study by The Lancet which says that COVID-19 can be transmitted by Fecal-Oral route. He said that COVID-19 can remain alive in the feces of a person even days after treatment. If a fly sits on it and then sits on eatables then the transmission would be faster.

That means a house fly can carry a coronavirus which causes respiratory illness. These flies can go from one person to another, they can pass on this disease from one person to the next. Thus a house fly can be a carrier of COVID-19

Big B shared this study on his Twitter on Wednesday and said that house flies, who sit on the excreta, can further transmit this disease. The video went viral on social media like wildfire.

Later, the Health Ministry said the information shared by Amitabh Bachchan is wrong. Health Ministry further confirmed the study of The Lancet that a combined approach of social distancing – quarantine, school closure, and workplace measures – is the most effective way of reducing coronavirus cases.

“If the house fly sits on this excreta and then on some food articles and spread the disease. So, it is very important that we start a people’s movement against this, just like we did under the leadership of the Prime Minister to make the country open defecation free,” Bachchan said in the video.

The 77-years-old actor was on the receiving end of trolls on social media for spreading fake data on coronavirus. One user took to his Twitter handle to criticize Big B, “I demand an apology from @SrBachchan for spreading misinformation through his Twitter account putting millions of lives at stake. #AmitabhBachchan”

India is making all necessary efforts to prevent the fast-spreading disease. Recently, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown for 21 days across the country during his address to the nation. India, at the moment, is under complete lockdown in order to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
