Indian Army makes world’s cheapest gunshot locator, can locate AK-47 bullets, let’s spread this news

In a significant development, the Indian Army along with a private firm has developed the world’s ‘cheapest gunshot locator’.

According to developers, the device can locate a bullet from a distance of 400 meters and can also neutralize it in a faster way. This device will be very useful for Indian soldiers to locate terrorists in areas such as Jammu and Kashmir, where the security forces have been fighting a proxy war.

The device, developed by the College of Military Engineering (CME), was displayed at the DefExpo 2020 which was held in Lucknow. As many as 1028 companies participated in the event. The name of the device is ‘Parth’, world’s cheapest gun shot locator. The cost of the device is only Rs.3 lakh which is cheaper than the imported ones. The cost of the device India imports is around Rs 65 lakhs. Once the device is inducted into the Indian Army, it will replace a similar imported gun shot locator.

Major Anoop Mishra showcased the indigenous ”Parth” gun shot locator device at DefExpo 2020. In yet another significant development, Major Mishra, who had developed a bulletproof jacket for protection against sniper bullets, has developed a helmet that can stop an AK-47 bullet round from a distance of 10 meters. This device is said to be first such in the world that weighs only 1.4 kgs.

The development of these types of equipment is currently crucial for the Indian Army to neutralize terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. The Parth locator comes at a time when the centre has abrogated Article 370.

It is being said that India will develop more such devices in order to export them. India’s defence exports have increased to around Rs 11,000 crore in 2019 from Rs 1,500 crore in 2016. Ever since ‘Make in India’ was launched by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India’s defence exports have increased seven-fold in the last two years from Rs 1,521 crore in 2016-17 to Rs 10,745 crore in 2018-19.
