J&K: 3 Terrorists Killed in an encounter with Security Forces in Pulwama District

Three terrorists have been killed in a gunfight with security forces in the Tral area of Pulwama district, police officials said on Wednesday.

According to police, Security forces received information about the presence of terrorists late Tuesday night and soon the troops launched a cordon and search operation in the Tral area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Militants opened fire at cops when they were encircled by the forces during a cordon and search operations (CASO) in the area. Later, an encounter broke out between the terrorists and security forces in which three terrorists were gunned down.

DGP Dilbag Singh of Jammu and Kashmir said that by far, a total of 10 search operations have been successfully carried out this year, 2 out of them were carried out in Jammu and the rest were in Kashmir. During this 19 terrorists have been killed in Kashmir and four in Jammu. Security forces recovered AK-47 rifles, some ammunition, and explosives from the encounter site, DGP said.

The area has been cordoned off following the encounter and search operation has been launched. Terror activities have caused tensions in Jammu and Kashmir, but security forces are doing a great job in order to maintain law and order and ensuring safety in Jammu & Kashmir. 

One of the terrorists was identified as Jayveer who was a commander of Hizbul Mujahideen and was involved in 8 major terrorist activities.
