The ACB laid a trap and caught police official taking bribe in Hyderabad

Police are known for maintaining law and order. They ensure that the streets of their community are safe, reducing the fear of crime and improving the overall quality of life of the citizens. But sometimes the police department has to face criticisms if any officer is caught taking a bribe. This is what happened with a policeman in Hyderabad who was arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 50,000 and two bottles of liquor.

According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Sub-inspector P Sudheer Reddy and his senior had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a person to grant him station bail.

The incident took place on Thursday and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted an investigation in the case. Revealing the report, ACB said the SI at the behest of his senior demanded Rs 1 lakh as the bribe from a citizen for the bail and to settle the civil case in Lok Adalat.

Later on, ACB laid a trap and caught the cop while accepting Rs 50,000 cash and two costly liquor bottles as bribe inside the businessman’s car at the police station in the posh neighborhood of Jubilee Hills.

The businessman was named in a Rs 34,000 cheating case filed by a woman who owned a salon, alleging that his wife had availed beauty treatments and that the couple did not pay for them. Sudheer Reddy is being interrogated and further investigation is underway.
