In shocking news that sparked public outrage in India, a 16-year-old girl was brutally gang-raped in Buxar district, Bihar. The incident took place on Wednesday when the girl was returning home from her coaching classes. Three youths, identified as co-villagers of the girl, allegedly kidnapped her on the way, took her nearby shed meant for stocking paddy straw. The three raped her after tying her hands and fled the spot.

Her family members worrying about the girl when she did not reach home till late in the evening, they then went on to search for her but did not find her. Locals saw the victim lying on the heap of straw and informed the family members, who then reported the matter to the police. The girl was taken to the Sadar hospital at Buxar for medical examination.

Although one accused has been arrested by the police and the other two are yet to be apprehended. Buxar police have already started investigating the case. SHO of women’s police station Sushila Devi said raids were on to arrest the other two accused. “If they don’t surrender in a day or two, we will move court seeking attachment of their property,” she added.

India is still carrying an unwanted record which we people are aware of. With so many records to boast about India’s development, their failure to stop rape cases is haunting like hell. Rape is the fourth most common crime in India. The level of rape cases in our nation rose alarmingly. It is learnt that most of the rape cases were committed by someone known to the victim.
