Reliance Jio launches free voice calls over WiFi, read how to enable it on your phone

Reliance Industries Limited beat all other competitors to become the first Indian Company to have a sensational market capitalization of Rs 10 Lakh crore. In addition to that, Mukesh Ambani‘s Reliance Industries Limited is now the world’s 66th most valued company ahead of famous entities such as BP and Netflix.

According to Bloomberg, the company’s market value accelerated to Rs 10 lakh crore from Rs 9 lakh crore in just 25 days.

Recently, Reliance Jio had announced the commercial operation of its fibre-to-the-home business. It aims to reach two crore households and 1.5 crore business establishment in the coming 12-18 months.

Not just that, Ambani also disclosed his plans to use the cooperation of two or more organizations of the digital business of Jio with retail and take on Flipkart and Amazon in the online space.

Case in point, after Bharti Airtel’s ‘Wi-Fi Calling’ started recently in select countries to enable its customers with free voice calls over Wi-Fi, Reliance Jio on Wednesday also launched Video and Voice Over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) service in India. This will enable the users to switch to voice over Wi-Fi inside their homes or offices.

“Jio has been testing this service over the past few months, to provide a robust experience to every customer at launch,” the company said in a statement.

It should be noted that Jio’s service is available throughout the nation on over 150 smartphones. With this new feature, now customers can also make and receive calls with Wi-Fi using existing Jio phone number.

Reliance Jio had announced that this service comes with no additional charge.

How to enable free Wi-Fi calling on Andorid and iOS calls:

-Go to Settings centre

-Then search for Wi-Fi Calling

-After that switch Wi-Fi calling feature ON your Wi-Fi-calling capable handset

-Reminder: For the best experience, you should keep both VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling switched on.

Jio Wi-Fi Calling will be enabled pan-India between 7 and 16 January 2020.

Talking at the launch of this service, Akash Ambani, Director, Jio, said: “At Jio, we are constantly innovating to enhance customer experience or solve their problems. At this juncture, when an average Jio consumer uses over 900 minutes of voice calls every month, and at a growing base of consumers, the launch of Jio Wi-Fi Calling will further enhance every Jio consumer’s voice-calling experience, which is already a benchmark for the industry with India’s-first all VoLTE network.”
