Man spotted washing Tea Cups in Dustbin at Thane Station, video goes viral

Most of us don’t even know what happens behind the scenes at shops located in Railway platforms especially when it comes to preparing food items. We don’t worry about how it is being prepared but we love to eat it without caring about our health.

However, food served in Railway premises hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Months after, a railway canteen worker was caught on camera making nimbu paani in unhygienic conditions at Kurla station in Mumbai, one more incident surfaced on the Internet.

A video which has been doing the rounds on social media, that shows a man at Thane Railway Station washing “used teacups” in a dustbin. According to the video, the man washes teacups in a dustbin and if you look closely in the video, you’ll find a sticker on the dustbin- ‘Sukha Kachra (dry waste)’.

After washing the cups in the dustbin and can be seen placing them on a tray, kept on the platform.

The twitter user @mandar2005 wrote that the incident happened on Platform 6 of the station. The tweet also describes that the man was later seen washing a vest in the same dustbin. He then tagged Central Railway Administration, Ministry of Railways and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, demanding strict action.

In March, earlier this year, a food stall on the Kurla railway station was banned for allegedly selling unhygienic lemon water to customers. The incident came to view when a video of a stall worker preparing the drink using water from an overhead tank, went viral on the internet.

The worker was seen using his bare hands to stir the lemonade which is a clear violation of food safety and hygiene guidelines as prescribed by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).
