Indian celebrities in the film industry get media attention more often than not. Like when they act in a movie and when it becomes a blockbuster hit at the box office, they hit the headlines for all the right reasons. The stars across all the cities have scores of supporters not just in India but elsewhere too.
They do get paid handsomely for each movie and they are known to lead a luxurious life. Besides earning in the grand stage, they also get tonnes of bonuses to earn money in the form of advertisements or endorsing brands.
However, there are some celebrities who don’t want to set a wrong example as they have turned down lucrative deals. They could have easily added more money to their wallets but they chose to remain simple and they became an inspiration amongst the masses.
Let’s take a look at the actors who have created a better world by coming up with their opinions:
Sai Pallavi, a popular South Indian actress hogged the limelight after she performed the role of a teacher- ‘Malar’ in Malayalam movie ‘Premam’, which was her debut film in 2015
The South Indian actress rejected a fairness cream brand endorsement deal worth 2 crore rupees. Usually, actresses would be looking forward to cashing in on to these types of deals so as to become rich but Sai Pallavi politely turned down the huge fairness cream brand that approached her for a commercial.
“I don’t endorse beauty products. You need to be confident about who you are and your skin colour,” she added.
The Kesari actor had rejected the offer to do a pan masala advertisement and there is a specific reason as to why he did turn down the deal. He is a teetotaller in real life and an inspiration to all of us.
Akshay Kumar is not just a reputed actor in Bollywood industry but also a philanthropist and a good human being. When it comes to helping others at the need of the hour, Akshay is second to none. He has not only extended his services to the film industry but has also won people’s hearts by giving back to society.
Bollywood Megastar, Amitabh Bachchan refused to endorse in soft drink brands after he confronted with a schoolgirl who asked him why he promotes useless thing that her school teacher had called as “poison”. After this, he had also requested other celebrities to understand the brand thoroughly before endorsing them.
Big B has also pledged to donate money to charity projects. Also, he is quite often praised for his immense contributions to social causes. This goes to show why Amitabh Bachchan is loved and admired by many.
He once said that social workers should be appreciated more than the celebrities as they push themselves beyond human imagination for the betterment of society.
Bollywood star Aamir Khan doesn’t appear in advertisements to endorse big brands or products but when he does, it would be only for a social cause.
It is no doubt that John Abraham is among the hottest male celebrities in Bollywood industry. He is someone who cares about his body and for that, he spent more money and insured his body part. He has a sizzling hot body and has decided to insure his butt when the insurance company approached him.
But when the actor was aligned with tobacco or alcohol he refused the offer it politely.
Just like Sai Pallavi, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor made the same decision by ignoring to work with a fairness brand. Ranbir Kapoor had made it very clear that he doesn’t want to promote the concept of colour discrimination as that would bring chaos in the country and it was so easy for this star to reject a big offer.
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is like six other celebrities who refused big brand endorsements. Not a long ago, she turned down a lucrative offer from a fairness cream that could easily have got her a massive amount to strengthen her bank balance. However, she isn’t interested in this deal and had also stated that she has no regrets when it comes to making a decision regarding this matter.
