Proud moment: India beat Pakistan to win South Asian Games Volleyball Gold

Following the success stories of Indian athletes of late, yet another milestone has been unlocked by Indian volleyball team. The team coach and the fans couldn’t have asked for a better response from the team that won the gold medal by beating Pakistan in the final.

Be it any sport, the sporting carnival between India and Pakistan is so special. In what was a proud moment for Indian Volleyball, India beat Pakistan in the South Asian Games volleyball final and went on to win the yellow metal.

After an early hic-cup in the game, India bounced back to beat Pakistan 3-1. “Volleyball-in our way to?#TeamIndia Men’s #Volleyball team defeat Pakistan in the Men’s Finals event at the 13th #SouthAsianGames in Nepal to win Gold! #Kudos team ?,” Team India Twitter handled congratulated the men for beating Pakistan in the finals.

India might have lost the first game 20-25 but made a sensational turnaround in the next two sets as they won the next two sets 25-15 and 25-1 respectively.

The head coach, G. E Sridharan who is extremely pleased with the way their players put up a great fight, added that their aim to make it to the Olympics. “The match was very tough and we played first set a little bit normal with Pakistan. We got (the score of) 3-1 today.

Our players are wonderful performers and we are going for the Olympic Qualification in the month of January. We will prepare the team and I am assuring you that our team will qualify for the Olympics also,” Sridharan told ANI.
