Karnataka horror: 9-yr-old girl allegedly raped and killed by 35-yr-old man

Just days after the entire nation was shocked by the heinous rape and murder of the veterinary doctor in Hyderabad and 6-year-old girl being raped and strangled to death by her school belt in Rajasthan, another shocking atrocity involving a 9-year-old girl has come to light. The schoolgirl was found murdered after allegedly being raped in Yakapur village in Chincholi Taluk of the district on Monday.

The 35-year-old accused by the name of Yallapa was arrested by the police. Locals in the village had reported that he was seen with the girl just before she went missing. The accused had then allegedly lured the victim girl by promising to buy her chocolates. The girl reportedly left for school but was absent.

But when the girl did not return home, parents started searching for their daughter. When they enquired Yallapa about their daughter’s location, he skipped the question adding that he was not aware of her. The parents registered a complaint at the Sulepet police station after which they initiated a probe to search the girl.

The villagers discovered the body of the girl late evening in the canal of Mullamari irrigation project which is behind the Anganwadi centre of the village. The police have also sent the body for post mortem examination. Besides, the innerwear of the accused was also recovered from the spot which had the marks of bleeding.

The police believe that the victim was allegedly raped before being killed by Yallapa. They have launched a probe into the matter and arrested the accused who was last seen with the victim. Based on prima facie, it appeared that the girl may have been strangulated to death, but the police have said they will confirm it right after the post-mortem report.
