Will burn Sadhvi Pragya alive, the day she comes back to MP: Congress MLA threatens on camera

A Congress MLA Govardhan Dangi from Madhya Pradesh has threatened Sadhvi Pragya Thakur to burn her alive as soon as she comes back to the state.

Govardhan Dangi from Biaora constituency made a controversial statement over Pragya’s remark on Nathuram Godse. He said that they will burn her alive if she sets her foot in Madhya Pradesh.

On this Sadhvi Pragya responded to Govardhan’s statement said that Congressmen have “experience” of burning people during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

Giving befitting reply, Thakur tweeted on Saturday, “Congressmen have old experience of burning people, from the Sikhs in 1984 to Naina Sahni (victim of 1995 tandoor murder in Delhi) in tandoor. @RahulGandhi termed (me) terrorist and his MLA Govardhan Dangi will burn me. So, I am reaching Biaora at his residence in Multanpura at 4 pm on December 8, 2019. Burn me.”

Former Chief Minister of MP Shivraj Singh Chauhan condemned Congress MLA Dangi’s statement and asked him to apologize. Shivraj Singh tweeted, “It is very shameful that people with such mentality live in a civilized society!”. Dangi should apologise for his statement, he added.

Former BJP MLA and National President All India Dangi Kshatriya Sangh, Hazarilal Dangi also condemned Govardhan Dangi’s statement. He said such types of statements tarnish political image in society. However, Govardhan Dangi apologised for his disputable statement.

Dangi made an Inflammatory statement after Sadhvi’s remark in Parliament during the discussion on Special Protection Group (SPG) Bill on Wednesday in which she called Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination Nathuram Godse, a patriot.

Bhopal MP Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s statement in the Lok Sabha created a stir across the country. After which the opposition took a dig at BJP. However, she was removed from the parliamentary panel after her remark.

Later, Thakur told parliament that her comments were “twisted” by the opposition. However, she apologized for hurting sentiments with her comments.

“It is condemnable the way my remark has been attacked without finding out the details and the context. Mahatma Gandhi has contributed immensely to the nation and I have great respect for him. I apologise if I have hurt any sentiments. But the opposition is distorting my remark,” said Pragya Thakur.

When asked Rahul Gandhi, he said, “Let them do it. I have made my stand clear,”. “What Pragya Thakur says is what she believes in. I don’t agree with her, but she believes in it,” Mr. Gandhi added.

While Congress took a jibe at Pragya’s statement, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey attacked Congress with his statement, “Congress has made government with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena called Nathuram Godse a patriot in Saamna”. He said.
