P Chidambaram takes a dig at BJP over political drama in Maharashtra

Congress leader P Chidambaram on Wednesday took a dig at the BJP over the ongoing political situation. Calling it “an egregious violation of the Constitution,” he said that it was an “assault” on the office of the President to wake him at 4 am to get the order revoking President’s rule signed. The veteran politician attacked over the way Devendra fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

“What will remain in memory of Constitution Day 2019 is the most egregious violation of the Constitution in Maharashtra between November 23 and November 26, 2019,” Mr. Chidambaram said.

“It was an assault on the office of Rasthrapathi (President) to wake him up at 4.00 am to sign an order revoking President’s Rule. Why could it not have waited until 9.00 am in the morning?”, he tweeted.

The senior Congress leader, who is still lodged in Tihar jail in cases of corruption and money laundering, is now talking about assault. Mr. Chidambaram should not forget that his son ‘Karti Chidambaram’ was also arrested by the CBI in a money laundering case. It means, “Habits take a long to depart”

The former finance minister also greeted the ShivSena-NCP-Congress coalition that is set to form the government in Maharashtra. Now, a leader who is already in Jail is expecting that the ShivSena-led coalition will form the government in Maharashtra.

Devendra Fadnavis who stepped down on Tuesday only three days after he took the oath last week. After his resignation, the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress leaders got together and met governor Bhagat Singh koshyari and claimed to form government in Maharashtra. Shiv Sena made an announcement that Uddhav Thackeray will take oath as the chief minister of the state on November 28.

The drama began just after Shiv Sena broke 30 years old alliance with BJP and joined NCP and Congress to form the government. This drama is expected to come to an end by Thursday with the swearing-in of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister and Mr. Thackeray will lead a coalition of the Sena, the Congress, and the NCP.
