Akshay Kumar donates ₹1 crore to flood-stricken families in Bihar, a grand salute to him

Indian state Bihar received incessant rainfall that led to disastrous floods due to which around 70 people have lost their lives while many people are still missing. Many districts of Bihar, including capital city Patna, have been badly affected by flash floods.

Though the situation has gone from bad to worse, Celebrities, common people are doing their maximum best to contribute something for the flood relief work.
It is good to see people helping each other by donating money, distributing food, materials, restoring a great leap of faith in humanity.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has once again won people’s hearts by doing his bit to the flood-striken families in Bihar. As per a report in some of the leading websites, Akshay donated Rs 1 crore to rehabilitate 25 families that have badly affected by the floods in Bihar.

In the monetary assistance provided by Akshay, each family will be receiving a sum of Rs 4 lakhs. Akshay has also donated huge amount to Odisha, Assam flood victims.

1 crore to Odisha Flood Relief:

According to a report published in Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the victims of the deadly Cyclone Fani revive their lives.

“This is not new. Akshay has always been contributing for causes, be it his Bharat ke Veer initiative for the armed forces, or his contribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods earlier,” a source told the publication.

2 crores to Assam Flood Relief:

More than 45 lakh people have been affected in 4,620 villages, with 1,01,085 people taking shelter in 226 relief camps. As many as 562 distribution centres have been established to provide relief to the less unfortunate ones and over 10 lakh animals have also been affected.

Almost 90% of the Kaziranga National Park has been submerged by now, and authorities are taking several measures, including speed restrictions on National Highway 37 which touches the park, to rescue animals as they head to higher grounds.

While 15 people died in floods and landslides and over 46 lakh have been badly affected in Assam, 24 deaths have also been reported from north Bihar, which is also experiencing a serious flood situation, with water levels of rivers in the area continuing to rise.

Coming to the rescue once again is the National Award-winning star Akshay Kumar, who promised to donate Rs 1 crore each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, in the wake of flood-stricken Assam, and the Kaziranga Park.

“Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis. I’d like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund and to Kaziranga Park rescue,” Akshay Kumar tweeted.

Akshay doesn’t believe in announcements but believes in a practical approach. His selfless activities and massive contribution to the Indian society in the crisis serve as a testament to the fact. This is why Akshay Kumar is so much special and is admired by scores of citizens in India.
