Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s simplicity and honesty have never been in doubt. The down-to-earth personality is a huge inspiration to all cricket followers. Known for the knack of captaincy, wicketkeeping, batting traits, swift stumping, quick running between the wickets, last ball six, helicopter shots, ICC trophies and so on, his contribution towards Indian cricket is so good that it cannot be put it in words.

MS Dhoni is the only captain in the history of cricket to have won 3 ICC trophies – ICC World Cup 2007, ICC World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. Even after given up international captaincy on January 4, 2017, he still has extended his services as a wicketkeeper-batsman.

He has always worked behind the scenes to offer some crunch tips to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the deciding phase of the game. Sometimes we just run short of adjectives to describe MSD in one word. He has done so much for India and is still extending his valuable contributions to the Indian cricket team.

The survey conducted on over 42,000 famous around the globe and MS Dhoni is viewed as the second-highest admiration man in India. Dhoni, who features second on the list (men) in India, holds a higher position than Ratan Tata (8.02%), Barack Obama (7.36%) followed by Bill Gates (6.96%) and Amitabh Bacchan (6.55%).

India cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is the second most admired sportsperson in India while India captain Virat Kohli follows third on the list.

As far as the overall list is concerned, Bill Gates topped the chart in the male list while Michelle Obama bagged the title at a global level among women. When it comes to India, Narendra Modi and six-time boxing world champion Mary Kom make their way to the top.

Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, and Salman Khan also featured in the top 20 most admired men in the world.
