Soldier dies 6 days before Rakshabandhan, Sister falls unconscious after hearing the news

Only 6 days ahead of India’s auspicious festival Rakshabandhan, a soldier from Jajhjhar attains martyrdom in Meerut. On the death of the soldier, his sister’s wishes of tying on his wrist, have shattered.

The martyred soldier, Krishna, was from Jajhar district of Haryana. The soldier was born and raised in Khedi village, where people had not seen electricity until recently.

Krishna was under-going training in Meerut. During rehearsal, a bullet mistakenly went through him and he collapsed. It is learnt that his colleagues Java had accidentally fired the bullet which hit him. The family was informed about the incident on Friday.

Hearing the news, the family left for Meerut right away. His sister Sapna, who was waiting for his return on Rakshabandhan, fell unconscious. Father Omprakash was also a retired soldier of the Indian army, who died in a road accident a few months ago.

Krishan Kumar started serving in the Indian army around 10 years ago. Soldier Krishna is survived by 2 sons, the elder is 3 years old and the younger 4 months old. Thousands of people have already gathered to see the soldier one last time, the body is expected to arrive at 4 o’clock in the evening. People are offering condolences to the family
