After Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley’s health is critical, admitted to Hospital

Former finance minister Arun Jaitley was admitted to the AIIMS on August 9 (Friday) after he had complained of breathlessness and restlessness issues. The hospital in a statement added that he is “haemodynamically stable”.
He is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under the observation of a multidisciplinary team of doctors.
The AIIMS, in a recent statement, said: “Arun Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS today morning. He is currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of doctors. At present, he is haemodynamically stable.”
It means that the patient has a stable heart pump and good blood circulation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker On Birla, Union health minister Harsh Vardhan, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, minister of state for health Ashwini Choubey, BJP working president J P Nadda and Sharad Yadav visited the hospital and enquired about Jaitley’s health condition.
Jaitley who is 66 years old was admitted at the Cardio-Neuro-Centre of the hospital at 10 am. In May 2019, Jaitley was admitted to the AIIMS for medical treatment.
A potential lawyer by profession, Jaitley had played a significant part in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet during his first stint as prime minister. He had also held finance and defence portfolios, and had quite often acted as the chief troubleshooter of the government.
Jaitley did not contest this year’s general elections apparently because of his ill-health.
He underwent renal transplant on May 14 2018 with Piyush Goyal filling the shoes for him in the finance ministry at that time. Jaitley, who stopped attending office since early April last year, was finally back in the finance ministry on August 23, 2018.
However, in September 2014, he had undergone a bariatric surgery in a bid to adjust the weight he had gained because of a long-standing diabetic condition.
