Is Delhi safe for women? Absolutely No! A college-going student belonging to the JNU university was allegedly raped by a cab driver who first drugged her in a moving cab while she was returning home from her friend’s house.

The second-year college student told the police that she boarded the vehicle from Mandir Marg area and the cab driver just drove around for like three hours after raping her, according to a report by The Times of India.

The 21-year-old woman was found in a semi-conscious state in a park situated in South Delhi by some locals who got her admitted to a nearby local hospital. The doctors who attended the patient confirmed the sexual assault.

The complainant was later discharged from the hospital and then she went to her hostel where she narrated terrible experience to the authorities.

She had later registered a police complaint.

In her statement, the woman added that the cab driver allegedly offered her something due to which, she fell unconscious and the driver later raped her in the cab itself.

The woman hails from Uttar Pradesh and is now pursuing a foreign language course in JNU.

After receiving the complaint from the woman, the Police are now in the hunt for the alleged perpetrator.
