HYBD Traffic Police installs LED Strip Lights to stop Signal Jumping so that people can cross

In a very serious attempt to prevent signal jumping and to help citizens cross the road safely and easily, Hyderabad traffic police have installed LED strips at the traffic signals.

For long, commuters jump signals in the city which makes it quite difficult for the pedestrians to cross the road and installing these LED strip lights are now making a huge difference.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Anil Kumar told news agency ANI, “We could see many commuters jumping signals in the city. To curb this, we have installed LED strip lights on the stop line at traffic junctions on a pilot basis.”

When the red light appears, the commuters should be extracareful and conscious to not cross at that particular time.

“When the red light is seen on the signals, the commuters become conscious and try not to cross at that time. At the same time, these lights will also help pedestrians to cross the roads because at many junctions we can see the commuters occupy the zebra crossing,” Anil Kumar explained.

He also added that after installing the LED strip lights, there has been a tremendous improvement in the traffic situation and the department has also received good feedback from the public.

“It has been two days since the installation of these LED strip lights. We have noticed improvement even during the day time. We are also getting good feedback from the public. In the coming days we are going to extend it to other signals too,” added Kumar.

The public highlighted that it is really a good move by the traffic department of the city police and that it has bought awareness among citizens. “The lights installed by the traffic department are not only creating awareness among the commuters about traffic rules but are also helping the pedestrians,” Govindh Reddy, a local, told ANI.
