Some miscreants take away entire bridge overnight in Russia, govt and officials are clueless

There are so many untold mysteries in the world and even the scientists are still figuring out how the heck did it happen like this or like that and so on.

The recent disappearance of a 56-tonne bridge in Russia sparked massive controversy and even prompted the police to initiate the investigation into the incident.

Digging deep, in Russia’s Murmansk region, this strange incident sent the local residents into a state of nervous excitement or agitation.

As per Daily Mail, the bridge is approximately 75 feet in length and weighs over 50 tonnes. The bridge is located on the Umba river in the Arctic region. In May, widepsread speculations of bridge’s mysterious disappearance started to circulate on VK, which is a Russian social media platform.

Also another bizarre thing is the fact that the bridge has disappeared without even a snippet of trace. Like 10 days ago, images of the bridge were again shared on VK, which depicted that a part of the bridge had broken down and the debris was lying in the water below.

A few days later, there is no sign of the broken bridge. Shockingly, the debris also disappeared. This incident triggered a detailed investigation which disclosed that the bridge had not sunk to the bottom of the river, as per News 18.

“It was taken away by unknowns. At the bottom, too, there are no large debris. Natural phenomena could not bring down the bridge”, wrote the page, where aerial shots of the bridge that vanished were posted.

Locals also believe that the bridge was completely torn down and then stolen by metal thieves. The bridge’s mysterious disappearance has been reported to Kirovsk Police.

“Most likely, metalworkers pulled the structure down into the water, and there they slowly took it apart into scrap pieces”, the VK page also speculated.

There is a specific reason locals believe that it’s the doing of metal thieves- it was not really the first episode of scrap metal thieves damaging infrastructure in the region. There were several attempts been made to steal transmission towers in the nearby Apatity in summer 2018.

In 2008, Russian police searched for scrap metal thieves who stole an even larger 200-tonne metal bridge in a night-time raid.

As per the Independent, Kirovsk Prosecutor’s Office confirmed an investigation was underway over the bridge’s disappearance. According to cops, thieves may have acted to sell scrap metal, but their identity and the way they operated is still not revealed.
