Summers are a massive threat to mankind. Vidarbha region in Maharashtra was rated the worst-affected region. It was reeling under extreme heat conditions with Nagpur and Chandrapur recording over 47 degree Celsius temperatures.
On May 28, Chandrapur recorded a maximum temperature of 47.8°C, the highest in the world, as per several media reports.
As per the reports, Chandrapur (47.8°C) topped the list of world’s hottest cities on May 28 while Jacobabad, Pakistan (47.5°C) and Nagpur (47.5°C) follow second and third on the list respectively.
In April, another Indian city- Khargone in Madhya Pradesh was also considered the hottest in the world on April 26. The temperature was rising to 47 degrees, the Meterological department in Bhopal had said.
The El Dorado weather website recorded Khargone’s temperature- 46.6 degrees Celsius and termed it as the hottest in the world.
Even then, Vidarbha was boiling in intense heat.
