Kolkata girl secures 4th rank in ISC Class 12 Exams, Made DCP for 6 hours

Class 12 student Richa Singh made her parents proud when she came fourth in the ISC examination. Surprisingly, she was made ‘deputy commissioner’ of the Kolkata police for a day. It has been learnt that she was given this honour in appreciation of her achievement.

Richa, who is a student of the GD Birla Centre for Education scored 99.25% marks in the 12th class exam results which were declared on Tuesday. She was made the Deputy Commissioner (South Eastern Division) from timings: 6 am to 12 noon during the day.

“Congratulations Richa!! Richa Singh, daughter of Insp. Rajesh Kumar Singh, Addl. OC, Gariahat PS, secured the fourth position across India at the ISC Examinations this year. She was felicitated this afternoon by @CPKolkata , Dr. @RajeshKumarIPS for her academic excellence,” Kolkata Police wrote on their official Twitter handle.

She is the proud daughter of Inspector Rajesh Singh, who is an additional officer-in-charge of Gariahat police station. When asked if she had any orders for her father as she was his ‘boss’ for the day, Richa has a very interesting message. She said: “I will order him to return home early”.

When asked her future plans, she said she is willing to study History or Sociology and start appearing for the UPSC examination was also part of the plan.

After learning upon her daughter’s achievements, he said: “Can’t express how happy I am. She is my ‘superior’ for the day. She has ordered me to return home early. I shall obey her today.”
