They say, some love stories are made in heaven but quite interestingly, this one was made in the hospital. Let’s find out how the love bloomed between the two. A couple who announced their arrival to the world by being born in the same hospital on the same day itself are now prepared to get married 26 years later.
The couple identified as Shauna Gracey and Tom Maguire were both born on December 22, 1992, just hours and few footsteps apart from each other in Wigan, Greater Manchester. The duo first met on their 18th birthday in 2010 at a party where Tom clad Ninja, Shauna was dressed as Minnie Mouse.
Interestingly, they were introduced to each other by a mutual friend on Facebook. While Tom was instantly into her, he couldn’t impress Shauna. But despite making attempts to make conversation with her on social media, even then Shauna wasn’t interested.
It was only after a few months, their paths crossed once again as they ended up having a drunken smooch. Even as Shauna still wasn’t convinced at all, it really took a few months to impress her.
After eight long years, the pair is all set for their big day. According to Shauna, “From the get-go Tom was so keen. He was adamant we were going to be together and would tell me he loved me. I told him that we were just friends and that we would never end up together, I just wasn’t interested.
But one night we were out and I just looked over and saw him and thought, ‘Oh my God, I really like him. We’ve been together for eight years now and I couldn’t be happier, he really is one in a million. Now more than ever I feel like it was fate that we met.”
She added, “I think it’s so nice that we were born on the same day in the same place. I love telling people and seeing their reactions.”
