Engineering student Madhu from Raichur brutally raped and burnt, Media didn’t show this

While the whole nation is busy casting the vote in the ongoing general elections, a heartbreaking incident was reported from Raichur in Karnataka. An engineering student named Madhu (24) who is a resident of Raichur was found hanging from a tree and body was badly burnt.

The tragic incident happened reportedly on 13th April 2019 and her brutally burnt body was found hanging from a tree in 16th April 2019 in a forest, away few kilometres of her Navoday Engineering College in Raichur.

Upon investigation, Raichur Police in Karnataka alleged that they found a death note which claimed that the student herself committed suicide as she failed in her exams.

On the contrary, the students and residents of Raichur refused to believe it and said that she cleared all the subjects and was brutally raped and murdered.

“Rahul Gandhi is addressing the public in Raichur today, ahead of the elections. We are staging a protest in front of him demanding justice,” says a student. We also spoke to the victim’s brother who said that the police had caused a delay in registering the FIR. “We’d lodged a complaint the day that Madhu disappeared. Had they taken prompt action, she’d have been alive,” he says.

According to United News of India, Superintendent of Police Kishore Babu said that arrest was made based on suspicion by Madhu’s parents. The arrest was identified as 28-year-old youth Sudarshan Yadav.

There is change.org petition signed by over 120,000 people, requesting the Karnataka Police to investigate the issue very seriously.

Scores of people from Raichur ‘held a candlelight march’ with voice #JusticeForMadhu in Raichur’s Teen Candil circle and also urged the Karnataka State Government to take necessary actions to find out main culprits in this case.

This is how Social media reacted regarding this brutal incident. “We want justice for Madhu”
