India was a visitor in global affairs, now we are a player: PM Modi

While talking to DD News, Prime Minister Modi responded to a question on foreign affairs. He said India was a visitor when it came to foreign affairs. The world did not value our interests, but for the past few years, India is leading in making decisions globally.

The question was asked by DD News journalist Ashok Shrivastava, who had conducted a very controversial interview of Modi during 2014 elections. The interview was censored allegedly under pressure from UPA government. The journalist has also written a book “Narendra Modi Censored”, exposing how media was controlled by the previous government.

Prime Minister Modi said, “India has been able to maintain a friendly relationship with both Iran and Arab countries, Russia and the USA, Israel and Palestine. The countries happen to be rival to each other, however, we have cordial ties with both sides.

The world was once polarised into two ends and countries had to fall on either side. Fortunately, the world has become globalised, every country is working for its (economic) interests.
