After receiving UAE’s highest civilian award, PM Modi’s leaves a special message

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit the headlines on Thursday as he was awarded Zayed Medal, which is United Arab Emirates’ highest civilian award, as a token of appreciation for his relentless efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Zayed Medal has previously been awarded to Russian President Vladimir Putin, former US president George W Bush, former France president Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Markel, Queen Elizabeth II from the United Kingdom and Chinese President Xi Jinping. It’s indeed a proud moment for India.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces took to Twitter to tweet that UAE President has awarded PM Narendra Modi with the Zayed Medal.

“We have historical and comprehensive strategic ties with India, reinforced by the pivotal role of my dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave these relations a big boost. In appreciation of his efforts, the UAE President grants him the Zayed Medal,” he wrote.

PM Modi was pleased as punch to have honoured UAE’s country’s highest civilian award. He took to Twitter to thank Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his great gesture.

“Thank you, Your Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. I accept this honour with utmost humility. Under your visionary leadership, our strategic ties have reached new heights. This friendship is contributing to the peace and prosperity of our people and planet,” PM Modi wrote.
